The Institute's academic programs are common to all streams and courses. Apart from the unit and departmental academics, the postgraduate trainees are required to attend the following academic programs every week from Thursday to Saturday from 2:00 p.m. onwards
Seminar
It involves detailed presentation and discussion on common, contemporary, and clinical topics related to mental health practice, education, and research, which is presented by two residents or students and chaired and co-chaired by faculty members and supervisors, respectively.
Case Demonstration and Conferences
Held every Friday, this academic activity involves detailed presentation and discussion on clinical cases related to mental health covered across streams of psychiatry, clinical psychology, psychiatric social work, and psychiatric nursing; presented by a team of scholars across streams with residents/students and chaired and co-chaired by faculty members and supervisors, respectively.
Journal Clubs/Book Clubs/Movie Reviews/Debates
On Saturdays, articles from scientific journals and magazines, movies, and books about mental health and human behaviour are shown and discussed. These are presented by a team of scholars from different fields, along with residents and students, and chaired and co-chaired by faculty members and supervisors, respectively.
Conferences, workshops, and guest lectures
They are organised for students and residents across streams that are taken by professionals locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally on diverse topics related to mental health and neurosciences.
